Saideira is a one-day celebration of Brazilian music, life and culture that's been successfully produced four times in Sth East Qld since 2010, (three times at The Joynt and once at the Coolum Civic Centre), plus a sold out a mini-version at the Brisbane Jazz Club and a special one-off performance at the 2011/12 Woodford Folk Festival. It is our way of not only creating work, but of realising our dream of simply and joyfully communicating the rhythms of everyday life in Brazil through traditional food, stories and music, whether it be samba & MPB, forro from the north-east, choro or the musician's acclaimed original, Brazilian influenced music.
The day normally features four bands, 2 djs, and the delicious home-cooking of Bahian bbq specialist Raimundo from our good friends at Brazilyum. Celebration is at the heart of life & this music, from the streets, backyards and clubs of Brazil makes for very happy times!
Saideira is unique in Queensland. We say muito obrigado to O.J. who conceived the idea and brought it to fruition for the first time in 2010. You'll hear more from the Saideira team later in 2012.
